Packa Corporation has held ISO 9001 certification since 2006, most recently recertified in 2023. We are also a certified member of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) chain-of-custody program, which means we can supply FSC-certified board on request.
Copies of our current certificates are available on request — just ask your sales representative or contact our office.
Every order runs through a check at three points: after die-cutting, after printing (if applicable), and before the finished pallet is wrapped for shipment. Our quality department pulls samples from each run and checks board strength, glue bond and print registration against the customer's specification sheet.
If a shipment doesn't match spec, we'll hear about it and fix it — that's been true since Walter's day and it's still true now.
The board we run comes from mills in Missouri and Arkansas. Most of the material we use has recycled content, and scrap and trim from our own production is baled and sold back into the recycling stream rather than sent to a landfill. We're not going to claim we're a "green" company — we're a box plant — but we don't waste material we don't have to, and it costs us money when we do.
Our safety program is run out of the operations office and covers machine guarding, forklift certification, and regular equipment inspection. New employees go through a safety orientation before they're put on the floor, and our plant has gone over 400 days without a lost-time incident as of this writing.
We follow OSHA general industry standards and keep our safety data sheets and lockout/tagout procedures posted at each work station.
